Our “Private” Beach, Pig Pick on the Dock, and Cold Weather in Marathon

Last week we found a beautiful little beach where we can bring the dingy ashore and Abby can “fish” and dig for crabs without a leash!!  We’ve gone there almost every day and always had the place to ourselves, our “private” beach in paradise!

Saturday we joined all our new friends and neighbors for a pig pick potluck on the dock.  It was a few pork butts instead of a whole pig but just as delicious and a huge variety of appetizers, side dishes and desserts, also delicious! Everyone had their Christmas lights/decorations up and lit, very festive!

The weather turned COLD on the 10th, 57 degrees at 8:42 am…what?!!  We’re in the Florida Keys for God’s sake!  And then came the 11th, I shouldn’t have whined yesterday…52 degrees at 7:52 am. 😦  At least there was NO wind (finally!) on the 11th.  It was so calm that all the boats in the mooring field where facing different directions…perfect.  The day warmed up enough to still cruise in the dingy to our “private” beach!
