Green Turtle Cay, Bahamas

Woke at 3:00 am to find the anchor was slipping! Ran out in the the rain and crazy wind in our nightwear to pull the anchor up, move the boat and reset the anchor. Then we stayed up the rest of the the night/morning to keep an eye on the other boats around us. So glad we heeded the weather report and anchored a protected harbor!

The wind was still blowing strong at 6:00 am so we put the dingy up and made a call to the Bluff House Marina at 8:00 am. We were comfortably dock, a little more protected from the wind, in a slip at Bluff House Beach Resort and Marina at 8:30 am. Green Turtle Cay is a stopover-point for southbound vessels during periods of rough seas in the Whale Cay Passage… and that describes us today.

Hahaha! This is a Maps satellite photo of the protected harbor, White Sound…it sure felt like in the North Atlantic Ocean last night!!
