After an awesome day and night at Tahiti beach we set out yesterday morning to cruise to Pete’s Pub in Little Harbor. It was a beautiful day and we had gorgeous water and arrived as planned on a rising mid-tide. There is a 4 foot clearance in depth at the harbor mouth at low tide so you have to be aware of your draft and the current tide. The weather was forecast to be perfect for our two day stay; however, Little Harbor is a safe and sheltered anchorage from almost any weather.
Pete’s Pub is a rustic beach restaurant/pub with a fun and casual party-like atmosphere, excellent food, friendly staff and great cocktails! Pete’s is home to the only working bronze foundry in the Bahamas. They are world renowned for their sculptures and are in permanent collections at the Vatican and museums worldwide.
Steve has been friends with Pete, his son Greg and daughter-in-law Heather for many years. I have met them several times while visiting Steve when he lived in the Bahamas on his first Hatteras (his 2nd Who Cares) years ago. Steve, and several other boaters, would live on the hook in Little Harbor for weeks/months at a time. Pete’s being the draw and its patronage a daily ritual. Always a blast! We had a great time reminiscing and catching up with Pete and his family and meeting Fletcher, Pete’s adorable young grandson. We’re looking forward to heading back in a week or so for some more fun at Pete’s!
