We left Hope Town on March 24th with beautiful weather, arriving back at our slip at the Marsh Harbour Marina, preparing for the next day arrival of a friend from North Carolina. We checked the weather forecast that evening and saw we were in for inclement weather for the next several days. We knew Who Cares would be staying tied up at the dock, safe in her slip, for at least a few days. So instead of island hopping we entertained our friend, Sherri, on Great Abaco Island.
The first couple days we stayed busy by kayaking to Mermaid Reef, shopping at Marlee’s beautiful beach glass jewelry boutique and attending the Jib Room’s world famous barbecue rib night. Then today, Linda and Tom, our friends and owners of The Marsh Harbour Marina and Jib Room (the marina’s restaurant and bar) organized a destination lunch and beach day road trip to Nancy’s Sea Side Inn Restaurant and Bar.
Our friend Marlee invited us to ride with her so we all jumped in her car, including Abby, and settled in for the one hour, 50 mile ride south on the Great Abaco Highway to the settlement of Sandy Pointe. Nancy’s Sea Side Inn is on a beautiful beach and we all thoroughly enjoyed the sun, sand, sea, libations, a delicious lunch and the camaraderie of our group.
