New Plymouth, Day Two, Green Turtle Cay, Bahamas

We had a great surprise yesterday! Friends we met in The Keys in December arrived at the marina in their three sail boats!  Great to see you again Matt and Shirley, Curt and Sharon, and Bill and Tricia! We almost missed them, they headed out yesterday (before we got to the yacht club) to hopefully get to West End in a couple days then cross the Gulf Stream before the weather changed again.  By the time they got to their proposed anchorage for the night, it was obvious the weather was not going to be in their favor so they headed back to wait it out for a stretch of good weather (no to light wind).  The crossing from West End, Grand Bahama to Florida through the Gulf Stream can be absolutely brutal in the wrong weather conditions!  And a cake walk in the right conditions!

We headed out in a strike team of dinghy’s aimed for New Plymouth.  After wander town and doing a bit of shopping and provisioning we stopped for lunch at Laures Kitchen, Asian Cuisine.  Yup that’s right, excellent and we even ate with chopsticks!
