We got a surveyor recommended by the broker.  Don’t know anything about him…I talked to him on the phone and he seemed knowledgeable.  He said he surveyed a large spectrum of boat sizes.  Not having any other choice, I hired him.  I’ve always said, never hire a fat surveyor because they can’t get down into tight places to check anything. Unfortunately, not meeting this guy, I have no idea if he’s fat or not.  The boat aced the survey…the surveyor found absolutely nothing wrong.  Which doesn’t mean shit to me because the surveyor couldn’t turn anything on…it’s in a heated shed.  So basically the survey was to check the bottom which is good.  The rest of the boat will be rechecked when it splashes.
