A Visit With Family in Surf City, NC

Wheels up at 7 am, we left Caspers and Swansboro and cruised south on the Intracoastal Waterway to Surf City, North Carolina. We were all settled in our slip at Topsail Island Marina and walking on the beach by noon! Beware, depending upon your draft, there is skinny water in Top Sail Sound from the ICW to the Marina. We draw five feet and had no issues at mid-tide, following directions from the dock master.

After our walk on the beach we stopped at Daddy Mac’s Beach Grille. We had a couple beers on the deck overlooking the beach while we waited to meet Steve’s cousin, Sue and her son, Jeremy. They drove up from Wilmington to visit for the day. We went with them to another restaurant down the beach, Buddy’s Crab House & Oyster Bar, and had a great lunch, both the food and the company!

Back on the boat we had a great time while Steve and Sue reminisced.  It was great meeting you Sue and Jeremy! And it was a great day at the beach!
